Sky Spirit goes HYROX — new "Endurance Zone" built out at the Luqa floor

Sky Spirit just joined the HYROX global affiliate network and installed certified CENTR x HYROX equipment (sleds, wall balls, race-spec rig). They are branding the build as "the Endurance Zone — Sky Spirit's New Home for Strength and Stamina." That is a positioning move into the Hyrox class-pack market — a lane CrossFit F15 owned alone last year. Why this matters for us: Luqa catchment overlap. The "structured-journey" demographic Hyrox attracts is the same person who converts well into our PT funnel — Sky Spirit just opened a parallel door 4 km from our floor. Worth watching their Hyrox pack pricing and whether they start selling onto our PT-curious audience.

BGM Birgu still on the launch slate — "Coming Soon" page live, no date attached

No fresh movement since the 16 May report. The BGM Birgu Fitness Centre page is still flagged "Coming Soon" with no opening date published. Marsa remains the most recent live location. Network is publicly described as 8 gyms + 2 coming soon. This is a reaffirmation, not a new finding — holding BGM at WARM rather than HOT because nothing landed this week. If a Birgu opening date or soft-launch announcement surfaces next week, that goes straight back to HOT.

24/7's stacked 12-month Youth Scheme + MyPT recruitment both still live

No new aggression this week — but the two standing pressures continue. The stacked offer (6-month government Youth Scheme + 6-month bonus from 24/7 = 12 months free for ages 16–21) is still active across all 4 locations (Ta' Qali, San Gwann, Mellieha, Zebbug), and the MyPT trainer-onboarding page is still pitching free workouts + rewards for personal trainers to attach to their floors. Reaffirming WARM — both items are already in our awareness from the 16 May report. If we want to act on the MyPT pipeline question, that is a Reno / Tifa conversation, not a new Jessie finding.

Market Pulse

Youth Fitness Support Scheme — partner network now at ~60 gyms. The government's free gym scheme was extended on 1 Feb 2026 (PM announcement) so anyone who already used it can re-apply, with the age band locked at 16–21 (born 2004–2009). Two macro effects to keep tracking: (1) operators with capacity to absorb free-conversion volume (BGM, 24/7) are building Gen Z pipelines at €0 cost; (2) the partner list keeps growing, which dilutes the novelty but keeps the conversion rails open for at least another budget cycle. Not a Fit Stop play — we don't sell to that age band on price — but it is reshaping Malta's lead-flow ecosystem under us. Continues from 16 May report. No action this week.

Hyrox-as-class is becoming a category. CrossFit F15 was the only Hyrox-affiliated box in Malta this time last year. Sky Spirit just joined. Expect 1–2 more affiliates in the next 6 months — Hyrox is following the same trajectory UK studios went down in 2023–24. Doesn't threaten our retention model directly, but it does compete for the "structured journey" buyer that overlaps with our PT funnel.
